Hey Boss – Ask Me!

So many times when I’m in conversations with dentists, I hear comments like “Employees are not loyal anymore”; “You just can’t find good help”; “No one cares, so why should I?”

What a sad commentary on the employee-employer relationship.

A recent study from the Society for Human Resource Management found that three out of four US workers are not loyal to their employers and are actively looking for a new job.

The most turnover occurs within the first 3 years on a job. Unfortunately, most turnover happens during the first 18 months.

Here’s my thought: Why not circumvent this before it happens? Why not check in with your employees before they become disengaged? Why not ask them to rate, on a scale of 1 to 10, how satisfied do they feel with your dental practice? I bet you never thought to ask them how you were doing as a boss and a leader!

If you want to have a successful dental practice that says “to heck with the statistics!,” here’s the operative word: ask!
